Pinterest Inspired || Bella Blvd

Hey, everyone!  I am stopping in to share a layout that I made for Bella Blvd recently.  It was for a Pinterest inspired prompt.  Here is the fun image we had to work with:

Here is my take on it:

I was inspired by the rainbow color pattern and all the circles in the Pinterest image. I decided to create my own rainbow pattern from punched out circles. Even though this layout took me a while (like, FOREVER!) to make, it was quite a cathartic process! I think the end result is really fun and highlights the fun times my nieces are having in the photos.

A Few Shares

Good morning, everyone!  I am falling behind on updating my blog a bit, so I'm going to share two recent layouts today.

The first is a layout I created for Pretty Little Studio.  I wanted to focus on mixing collections for this layout, so I mixed a lot of the You & Me, Treasure Island and Let's Go collections.

Look at that cutie - his name is Knox.  He's my new nephew, born on September 2nd.  He's pretty adorable.

The second layout was made for today's challenge at The Studio.  We were asked to scraplift another design team member.  I chose to lift this layout by Jinny:

I love her fun design.  Here is my take:

I like Jinny's better.  The original is almost always best :)  I think I should have stuck with my signature white background for this one, but I wanted to branch out a bit.  I did use a lot of fun SpiegelMom Scraps products in this layout, which is fitting, since the cuties in the picture belong to Jody :)  The pink felt hearts, wood veneer stars and the Silver Sunrise sequin mix all came from her shop.

Thanks for popping in today!

Hello Autumn! || Bella Blvd

Happy Saturday, friends!  I have been SLAMMED with work and this weekend I am SLAMMED with scrap assignments....at least I like my weekend work ;o)

I wanted to share a layout that I made for the Bella Blvd blog.  It was made for their "Flashback Friday" feature.  We were asked to use one of the older Bella lines to create a project.  Since it is officially Fall where I am, I thought the Hello Autumn collection would be perfect.  Plus, i'm hoping this project encourages cooler weather to come my way - I am ready to wear my boots!

Can you believe it?  A not white background!  I'm so proud of myself :o)

I also just had to sprinkle in some gold rush sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps.  They're my fave!

Have a fabulous day!

Some Pretty Little Studio Shares...

Yay!  It's the weekend!  I'm hoping to work on a few scrap projects and just relax...work has been a bit crazy, so I need the down time!

I wanted to pop in and share a couple of projects that I created for Pretty Little Studio.  The first one may be a bit of a surprise, but I told you that I that I was in a card mood recently:

I love the soft colors and patterns in the You & Me collection - so pretty!!

The next project is a layout I created for a Pinterest inspired post.

Here is the image:

Here is my layout:

I was inspired by the colors to use the "Let's Go" collection.  The layers of pillows inspired me to use lots of layers on my layout.  And the red metal headboard inspired me t do some fun misting for my background work.

Thanks for stopping in today - hope your weekend is great!!

September Pep Rally || Clique Kits

Good morning, everyone!  It's pep rally time!!  I love the monthly Clique Kits' pep rallies - I just adore seeing all the different projects from the same kits and I love that it's a fun way to get to know a lot of the subscribers - so cool!  You should have arrived her from the lovely Cassandra's blog.

I did something a little different for me this month.  I'm a layout girl.  I'm a project life girl.  I am NOT a card girl.  But in the past month, I've really had an itch to make cards.  So...I did...and I made three with this kit!!

I kept them all very simple and added in lots of thread and sequins for texture:

And there you have it!  My feeble attempt at cards!

Here is the whole line up for today's hop:

Using Circle-Shaped Photos || The Studio

Good morning, everyone!!  There is a new challenge up at The Studio this morning - use non-square/rectangle shaped photos.  I love this!  I decided to use a whole bunch of circles.  I like using circles on a layout, but I don't use them a lot of the time.  This challenge was the perfect pportunity for me to do so.

I also used my August Clique Kit.  With the recent move, I never got a chance to play with it, so I broke it our for this challenge - it was absolutely PERFECT for these photos!

And of course, a layout would not be complete without a sprinkling of sequins.  I used some of my favorites from the SpiegelMom Scraps Shop - these Gold Rush sequins have my heart!

I hope you are able to play along with us this month!!

Issue 11 - Jot Magazine!

Hey, everyone!  Happy Fri-YAY!!

I am so excited to share that I have a layout in the most recent issue of "Jot Magazine".  I decided to take on the prompt to scrap one of my favorite photos - so it's a photo you've definitely seen before:

I used a ton of Bella Blvd goodness on it.  I love the slightly older Lucky Starz collection - mainly because I just adore stars.  Plus the bright Bella colors complimented my photo so well!

Have a happy weekend!

Quick & Easy PL Spread || SpiegelMom Scraps

So…I am way, way, waaaaaay behind on my PL album this year and I need to catch up quickly.  Luckily, by picking out just a few core supplies from the SpiegelMom Scraps Shop, I am able to create a spread in a short amount of time and still have it embellished and pretty-looking.  Most importantly, I am getting these memories on the page before I forget them entirely. :)

For this spread I decided to stick with a PL mini core kit (I used Amy Tangerine’s Plus One kit), my favorite hearts & arrows wood veneers, an assortment of sequins and some label stickers.

Here is my spread:

My favorite detail from the spread is the confetti pocket.  Confetti pockets are such a quick and easy way to add interest to a PL spread.  I mixed the gold rush sequins with the gold stardust confetti (they are sold out, but you can find the silver assortment here) and I used my fuse tool to close up the pocket.

I also love the Dear Lizzy wood veneers and knew that the “Best Ever” one would be perfect to layer on top of a scenery photo from the week – just another easy way to add some quick interest.

The rest of the spread is fairly simple with a smattering of wood veneers, sequins and enamel shapes.  This page came together in about 30 minutes and most importantly, it’s done and added to my 2015 album!

The SpiegelMom Scraps Shop is the perfect place to stock up on your PL essentials.  Use code KAT15 when you shop to save 15% off your entire purchase!  Thanks for stopping in today!

Clique Kits' September Challenge

Hey, everyone!  The Clique Kits September challenge is live on their blog now!  The rules are the same as always: you can link up ANY project, you can link up to THREE times, and you DON'T have to use Clique Kits products or kits to play along.  How easy is that?!

The winner this month will receive a Clique Kit, which is definitely a good deal since subscriptions are sold out right now.

For this challenge I dove into the awesome September kit which features a ton of awesome product from Cocoa Vanilla Studios.  It also has some fun Evalicious goodies and some exclusive word stickers designed by Melissa of Pretty Little Studio!

Here is my layout:

If it looks sort of familiar, it's because I scraplifted myself.  I really wanted to play with paper but my creative juices were not flowing.  Scraplifting myself is one of my favorite ways to get back in a creative zone.  Here is the layout I lifted.

I hope  you can play along with us this month!!

Mix & Match || Bella Blvd

Hey, everyone!  I am up on the Bella Blvd blog today sharing a layout that I had a ton of fun creating. I was told to create a layout mixing at least 2 lines from Bella Blvd.  This was easy for me because I almost always mix them. However, for this layout, I decided to limit it to 2 and incorporate as much of those 2 lines as possible.  Here's what I came up with mixing the Rover collection with the newer Family Frenzy collection:

I think the end result is so much fun!  I love the photo and I think all the bright colors and fun patterns really highlight it well.  What do you think?
