CS #110

Hey, all!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend...I'm sad it's coming to a close. However, I have a slightly short work week (I only have to work half a day on Friday) due to the July 4th holiday.

As usual, I checked Creative Scrappers this morning to see the weekly sketch...and I loved it (of course). Here is my layout made from it:
The layout is also for another challenge blog that I found recently, The Studio Challenges. Their current challenge is to scrap about something summery. Why not some summer lovin'? :o)

Have a great week!! And don't forget about my current giveaway...going on for just a few more days :o)

Let the FUN shine in...

Hey, all!

I have a quick layout to share with you. It's called "Beach Bums," but my favorite thing about it is the paint swatch that says "funshine." I love using these on my layouts, especially when the name of the paint color matches the theme of the page.

What random, fun things do you like to use on your layouts?

Also, don't forget that I have a giveaway going on until next Tuesday! Check it out here.

My Hero...

Hey, all!

Happy, happy Saturday! I love the weekends oh-so-much :) I have a new layout to share with you today. I am really looking forward to the Fourth of July...it's one of my favorite holidays...so since I was thinking about it so much today, I decided to make a red, white and blue layout! Here it is:
I finally caved in and bought a sewing machine...which I am absolutely terrible at using. Grrr... I know that I will get the hang of it eventually. It's just going to take some practice. I tried to make the pages sewn together look all neat and nice, but I think I was sewing too fast, so it didn't work out too well...I decided to use it anyways...I will keep praciticing, though. I just have to get some patience first ;)

I also tried a new fun technique with twine. I have seen a lot of digital layouts recently that looked like there was twine weaving all about the layout, so I decided to try it with the real thing. I'm pretty satisifed with how it turned out. I held the twine in place with some tiny brads. It was something fun and new to try.
Thanks for stopping by...enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Oh Happy Days!

Hey, all...

So, recently, I have been a pitiful example of a crafty person. This weekend I sort of lost my "mojo" and it hasn't entirely returned to me yet. That hasn't stopped me from wanting to be creative, though. Luckily, I came across the perfect little project. I told you the other day that I happened upon the ScrapFIT blog and I just know it's going to be one of my new addicitons...Currently, they have a "mini workout" posted. For this "mini workout" all you have to do is make a tag. Here is mine:This was a fun little project that was quick, but may also help me get my "mojo" back on track. What do you do when you lose your creative "mojo?" I'd love some recommendations :)

Have a nice day!!

Flower child

Hey, all!

I have a quick layout that I want to share with you: I made this with a sketch done by Amy Oxford. Seriously love her stuff...go check out her blog for tons of fun inspiration. Both the sketch I used for this layout and the street signs that I used in the current SOTB challenge can be found on her blog here.

I also used the May Polka Dot Whimsy kit for this. It was full of yummy summer-themed goodies :) I loved the May kit in particular because it made me put together colors that I normally don't gravitate towards. It's always fun to go outside your own box a bit, don't ya think?

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!

My favorite shoes...

Hey, all! There is a new challenge up over at These Are A Few of my Favorite Things...and you have to scrap your favorite shoes...So, I have already scrapped one pair of my favorite shoes before, but I decided to scrap something different this time: my Rainbows. Oh, how I love them. I have 4 pairs and they are all different. And boy, are they loved. I have a black pair, 2 solid brown pairs, and a brown pair that has rhinestones on them (for fancy occasions). I can't get enough of them. And since I moved to the West Coast, I can now wear them year round (yay!). I only wish I could wear them to work...sigh.

Seriously, though, you should bounce on over to TAAFOMFT because they are doing a massive giveaway for this challenge...there will be 27 winners!! You can't go wrong with that :)

I also did made this layout for the current ScrapFIT Challenge: to use a machine...they classified punches as a machine, so my Martha Stewart loopy punch counts... (I just found that awesome challenge blog for the first time...I think I'm going to become an addict):

Anyway, here is the layout:Thanks for stopping by...enjoy the work week!!

CS #107

I finally get to play along with Creative Scrappers again! I've sort of missed my Sunday morning tradition :)

Here is my layout using their most recent sketch:
I had to bring my Crate Paper "Bliss" back because I love that collection so much (and if you've been reading my blog for awhile, you know my obsession with it!). This layout did not turn out as I had envisioned it...it's way too busy, but it took me so long to do that stupid hand-stitching, that I think I'm just going to leave it alone for now :)

Have a happy Sunday!

Missing sketch artist...

Hey, all! The weekend is finally here!! And I am finally getting some crafting done. Since, I've been out of the crafting game for quite awhile, I figured I would use some sketches to get me back in the groove. I found this sketch and I absolutely adore it...unfortunately, I have zero idea where I got it from. I usually make a note of these kinds of things, so I can give the artist credit...but the name is so small on the bottom, that I can't tell. If anyone knows where I might have gotten it from, please, please tell me, so I can give the appropriate person credit for their fabulous sketch:
And here is the layout I made using the sketch...I copied the sketch almost exactly because I thought it was so, so fabulous. The sketch itself was a work of art! :) I used some scraps from my April Polka Dot Whimsy kit to finish this (got to LOVE that awesome Crate Paper!).
OK, I'm off to enjoy the much-needed weekend. Thanks for stopping by!!

New card

Hey, all! I hope everyone enjoyed their first day back to the normal routine after a nice long holiday weekend :) I can't believe it's June already...weird... :o)

I played along with the card challenge over at Twisted Sketches this week. Here is my card:

I am so excited to get back to crafting after how busy I have been lately, so hopefully you will see some more new projects soon... :o) Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Memorial Day!

I know I'm a little late with this post, but I've been out of town...so that's my excuse.

I just want to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day. It's a good day to honor all those men and women who have sacrificed so much and paid the ultimate price to protect the freedoms we hold so dear.
